Two Maratha Cannons on the Alibag Fort.
One amazing fact about these Cannons and other Indian made Cannons: Even if the Cannons are exposed to direct sunlight, they feel little warm rather than being hot unlike other metals. View of Sarjekot Fort from Alibag Fort.
Sarjekot Fort is located to the North of Alibag Fort and both share the same Rock-Island. It’s also referred as the 18th bastion of the Alibag Fort and was constructed as an answer to the artillery of Hirakot Fort situated on the shore of Alibag. Two British Cannons on the Alibag Fort, constructed by “LOW MOOR IRONWORKS - Yorkshire”
These two British Cannons are located at the Northern part of the Alibag Fort. The manufacturers name and the Cannons Specification are clearly visible, which reads – Dawson Hardy LOW MOOR IRONWORKS - Yorkshire. Hanuman Temple, Ship Dock and Firing Range in Alibag Fort.
